Why spring styling is pure magic
I never realized how much I love styling for spring – aside from the fact that all the newest collections come in at this time, the vibes are just so positive. The sun is shining – at least where I live and it’s that perfect blend of the cool breeze and warm sun wrapping you in springs glory, it seems all your issues fade away and the only thing left to decide is which bottle of Sauvignon you will be sipping on the beachfront promenade.
Made even more so by the fact that it is time to not only open all your new goodies from your favourite fashion houses, but you can also wear them. So, what is an absolute yay for me this Spring?
Spring fling outfits: embracing refined pastel vibes and ballet flat revival
Although the usual trends such as wide leg jeans and bulky sneakers still have room in my heart and closet, I am ready for the refined pastel vibes that once roamed the streets of Europe. We are talking A-line dresses in pale shades of pink, blue and yellow and of course pistachio green which is very in this season.
Embroidered cotton bell skirts with silk and satin camisoles, skinny jeans paired with pussy-bow sleeveless blouses in floral prints perfectly styled with a pair of ballerinas. Oh, did I not mention that? The ballet flats are back, and they have been for a while… first making a comeback summer 2023, but it was no fluke, they are here to stay – for now at least, and I must say I am loving it, besides being the easiest shoe to throw on, ballet flats are also a closet staple for a classic tweed blazer, camisole and jeans look. The spring palette works beautifully with nature-inspired florals fashions.
And of course, the HIT of the 2024 season was the slingback… and it is still here, whichever brand you sport you will find yourself a slingback model either a kitten heel or a flat style to complete your warm spring days outfit, but if you find yourself in need of a shoe for a more sophisticated outing the higher heeled counterpart of the beautiful classic model is available in most brands.

My favorite designer picks for spring
As with most things the most popular ballerinas and slingbacks are from the house of Chanel, as every woman owns at least one pair of, I must say that the flat pointy Dolce Gabbana slingbacks from spring/summer 2024 were a work of art, I couldn’t help buying them in both black and gold and am very much looking forward to wearing them again this season.
Not to mention the beautiful Dior slingback which has been on the market for a few years now, in fact worn by Dior lovers’ way before the boom in 2024, but to me the style is a more elegant version worthy of a beautiful A-line Dior satin dress. And yes, of course I got a pair… I went for a beautiful escarpin slingback with gold embroideries.
Several different brands have taken to the style, these are just a few of my personal favourites this season, and I cannot wait to wear them!!
Needless to say, ladies, it is time to focus your attention on the fine, the delicate and the feminine to fling this spring.
